Longer work

Things too large to finish in one sitting, listed with their real status rather than a flattering one.

Drafting

Nightjar

A novel assembled out of the hour between the two sleeps. A family, a house that keeps one more room than it should, and a century of people waking at ten past one for reasons none of them can name.

Written in short sections. Read in any order, though the order matters.

The Small Extinctions

Linked stories about the vanishings nobody holds a ceremony for: last times that were not announced, words that fell out of a language, the particular light of a room that has since been repainted.

Eleven pieces exist. Two of them are good. The project continues on that basis.

Field Recordings

An open-ended series of observations, overheard lines and notes made in transit. Some become fragments. A few become essays. Most stay exactly as found, which is the entire argument of the project.
